Before you lock in a specialisation, you’ll spend time in each of MCE’s four core engineering departments
Get hands-on experience with development applications, stormwater, drainage, services coordination and construction-phase inspections. You’ll see how sites actually work from approvals through to delivery and how civil engineering underpins every successful project.
Learn how Australian homes are designed and built. From slabs and framing design to construction inspections, you’ll understand how residential structural design translates into buildable, compliant outcomes on site.
Work on concrete and steel structures including apartments, warehouses and light industrial projects. You’ll develop practical skills in analysis, load paths and structural systems used every day in real-world practice.
Step into the investigative side of engineering. Learn how and why structures fail, how damage is assessed, and how repairs are designed, giving you a sharper eye for better design across every discipline.

MCE’s Graduate Training Program is a full-time, two-year rotation designed to give you hands-on exposure across multiple engineering disciplines.
You’ll spend six months in each department, working alongside experienced engineers on live projects and seeing how designs move from concept through to site. You’ll gain valuable on-the-job exposure to how engineering is delivered, including working with builders, councils and project teams.
By the end of the program, you won’t just know your discipline. You’ll understand how everything connects.
