The Captains Corner Apartments is one of several projects we
have carried out in the Mackay Harbour precinct for Port Binnli
Pty Ltd.
A particular challenge with this project was its location within
one of Australia's fastest growing regions, resulting in extreme
difficulties in sourcing materials and trades. Minimising the
number of structural trades and simplifying the structure were
particular priorities.
Difficult ground conditions within the reclaimed land adjacent
to the marina, meant that a flexible approach to the building
foundations had to be taken with several types of piles being
utilised, depending on the particular conditions in each area
of the site
